TNF

Tumor Necrosis Factor. A cytokine that induces hemorrhagic necrosis at the site of a tumor. There are two types: TNF-α and TNF-β.

The role of TNF-α is to curb inflammation by inducing cell death (apoptosis) in an inflamed cell through binding to receptors in the cell's surface membrane. In addition, causes disorders in vascular endothelial cells and mitochondria, and may form blood clots.
